How to Stilt a Hanging Cone
Vase (#637)
Collect Materials:
4 – ½ inch stilts
3 – 4 inch metal rods
Bead and Hole
Reamer (8915)
Thinfire Paper (ST-540)
Step 1 – Arrange Stilts as shown below on on your kiln shelf or portable work space such as an 8 inch
tile. We suggest using a sheet of Thinfire Paper to protect your kiln shelf.
Step 2 – Thread rods through holes in Cone Vase. Place cone on stilts. If the piece is painted prior to firing, use
a Bead and Hole Reamer to thoroughly clean out the holes. If glaze is in the holes, it will stick to
the rods.
Step 3 – Fire as normal!
