Get Ready for Summer Camp

With the cold weather and winter months still to come it may seem that summer camp is far away. While it may be some time before we don our flip flops and shorts, now is the time to plan for summer camp. Many parenting magazines and local publications begin promoting camps and summer activities in February; thus parents are encouraged to begin planning their children’s summer activities before the frost disappears from the windows! |
So, what can you do? Be ready! Start planning your camp activities now. Whether you offer camp for a full week or one day a week, you will need to plan your projects so that you may determine pricing for your programs. Some studios like to offer a pottery painting project and offer other craft projects that tie in with a specific theme. Such as, painting a wall plaque for the child’s bedroom door then painting a pillowcase with fabric paint or create a mosaic picture frame and paint a dish to hold jewelry to accompany the frame on the child’s dresser. Other studios prefer to stick with all fired arts which would allow for projects such as glass fusing, clay hand building and pottery painting. |
